Bromyard Speed Festival

Altitude with Attitude – Shelsley Walsh – Sunday 1st August

Spectator Information

Bromyard Speed Festival will be holding its ‘Altitude with Attitude’ event at the world famous Shelsley Walsh motoring venue, between Bromyard and Great Whitley on Sunday 31st May 2020. Shelsley Walsh is the oldest motoring venue in the world and is just 10 miles from Bromyard.

Saturday the 30th May will also feature a number of events in the local town of Bromyard. More details can be found further down this page.

We will be inviting up to 140 cars and bikes to feature in ‘Altitude with Attitude’ at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb.

BSF EntrantEach vehicle will have two runs up the track in the morning and two more in the afternoon. Where feasible vehicles can also take a passenger on the runs. The cost per vehicle is £75 and the day runs from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm with a 1 hour lunch break around 1.00 pm.

The vehicles we invite include some of those who have supported our previous events, as a thank you. There will also be vehicles not seen before and the overall mixture will be as for the previous street events: classics, single seaters, rally cars, old, new, grand and humble – but always interesting. Click on the ‘Entrant’ image above to enter your vehicle.

During the day we particularly want to see drivers and riders who wouldn’t normally visit racing venues to be able to gain a new experience and maybe even get a taste for racing. This is a non-competitive, untimed event so everyone can go at the speed they are comfortable with.

Entrants should read the ‘Entrant – Terms and Conditions of Entry’ – a link can be found at the bottom of this page. All Entrants will be considered as having accepted these ‘Entrant – Terms and Conditions of Entry’ if they participate in this event.

We also want to encourage spectators to come and watch, particularly anyone who has not previously visited Shelsley Walsh. The paddocks will be open to view the cars and bikes entered. Viewing points along the track will let you see the action up close and bars, restaurants and trade stands will help fill the day.

Parking for spectators will be charged at £10 per vehicle in advance and £15 on the day, up to 4 passengers, additional passengers £2.50 each. Entrance to the venue and the paddocks is free.

In 2019 we enjoyed another successful event in Bromyard Town itself. Highlights included a period garage containing Aston Martin vehicles from every era, a re-enactment of the ‘Italian Job’ , a celebration of Bentley in the town square and 160 cars and motorbikes parading through the town in front of an estimated 7,000 visitors, the video below provides some of the highlights.

A special attraction will be the current UK Land Speed Record Holder ‘Vampire’ which is powered by a Jet Engine from a Red Arrow Gnat Aircraft. If conditions allow, the car will be started during the lunchtime break so be sure to bring your earplugs!

Parking for spectators will be charged at £10 per vehicle in advance and £15 on the day, up to 4 passengers, additional passengers £2.50 each.

Entrance to the venue and the paddocks is free.
